ChatGPT Plugin Readiness Checker
Nine questions about your product. Three fixed rules. A plain answer on whether a ChatGPT plugin is worth building, with the reason behind every line.
How the verdict is decided
- Any answer marked Stop gives Weak plugin opportunity.
- Otherwise, any answer marked Gap gives Promising but needs backend work.
- Otherwise the result is Excellent plugin candidate.
There is no score and no weighting. The same answers always give the same result, and every answer shows the reason it was marked the way it was.
Optional and not evaluated. It is carried into your brief if you book a call.

What the checker cannot tell you
It cannot tell you how many people will use your plugin. Nobody outside OpenAI knows how often ChatGPT suggests a given plugin, and OpenAI states that developers cannot request extra distribution. A strong result here means the plugin would be useful when it is called. It does not mean it will be called often.
It also cannot read your codebase. An API that looks documented from the outside can still need work once another system starts calling it. That is what the Plugin Readiness review is for.
